Hiking in Fontainebleau
Hi everyone!
Let's head over to the southern end of Fontainbleau for a Protected content hike. I really like this part of the forest, as it is much less frequented, and as such, the undergrowth is prettier and we'll normally run into less people.
We can take several breaks along the way so that we can enjoy ourselves and take in all the beauty of nature.
Here is the plan:
First we'll hit up Restant du Long Rocher and visit the La Grotte de Béatrix. We can eat lunch at the top of the Rocher where there are several pretty views of the forest.
Belvédères / viewpoints – several rocky escarpments with open views over the Loing valley.
Rocher Boulin: Smaller but very picturesque rocky chaos, popular with climbers.
Logistics:
RDV: Transilien R, Montigny sur Loing at 11h15
For those taking the train at Gare de Lyon here is the schedule to follow: leaving at 10h06 on the dot (arriving at Montigny sur Loing line R at 11h12).
I will be driving and will meet those taking the train at the stop in Montigny.
Food: Bring a light lunch and water Protected content
Clothing: dress warm and in layers. You may get too warm and want to remove layers. When we stop, you will be cold and will need to bundle up.
Weather: check it before. You may need a poncho or rain coat.
***if it decides to rain Protected content , my experience is that it is best to cancel and wait for better conditions another day***
=> Should this happen, I will post a notification on the group activity board 24 hours before.
See you!
