20 Km Hike (Not A Loop): St Quentin 》Port Royal Abbey 》St Remy
Dear all,
Please read the activity description before joining 😉
It will only be maintained in case of dry weather.
It's not a loop!
You will need good walking shoes and you have to be used to long hikes.
I suggest you this 20 km hike in the South-West of Paris, from St Quentin en Yvelines station (RER C) to St Remy les Chevreuses station (RER B).
The hike highlights:
- Les Templettes - a very curious construction, "a modern Temple", by the architect Ricardo Bofil, situated on an artificial lake
- A picnic stop in Port Royal Abbey (the Abbey is in ruins, it's just a very picturesque spot). Please bring a snack with you (there are no supermarkets in the forest 😁), a lot of drinking water and something to put on the ground because it might be wet
- The Madeleine castle in Chevreuse (up on a hill!)
- The river Yvette bucolic banks
Please plan your trip carefully: there is only 1 train per hour in this direction on Sundays - if you are late, you will not be able to catch up with the group. Moreover, you will only be able to take the RER C in Paris beginning from the Invalides station.
I suggest we meet upon our arrival to St Quentin en Yvelines, on the platform, at 10:00 am.
I put away my cellphone when the walk starts and then I don't answer any phone calls or messages. Why? Well, because I, just as everyone, am willing to enjoy a relaxed hike 😊.
