A 20 Km Walk Along the Seine in Normandy
*** Please read the activity description before joining ***
This activity will only be maintained if no rain is expected.
We will start in Vernon and we will finish our walk in Gaillon-Aubevoye, so it's not a loop.
Good walking shoes are required - possibly some muddy patches.
Please bring a picnic and drinking water. We will not find any cafés or supermarkets along the way.
We will take our train at the St Lazare station. The train will leave the station at 10:12. We will then get off at Vernon.
We will follow the Seine close to the water wherever possible - or cut through the fields.
Coming to Gaillon, we will see its Renaissance castle from the outside.
It's safer to buy your train ticket online before coming to the station - Gare St Lazare is always so crowded! The site where you can do it is called SNCF Connect. You can also find there all the useful information: for instance , how long the trip will last.
We could either meet inside the train at 10:12 am - I will be in the upfront carriage departure-wise, behind the train conductor - or we could also meet directly on the platform in Vernon.
Please plan your trip carefully - a lot of renovation works in Paris this summer! Some metro/train lines are currently closed. If you miss the 10:12 train, you will not be able to catch up with us : the next one will be only 1 hour later.
At what time will we take our train home? I cannot tell : it will depend on how fast we walk, how many stops we make, and so on.
