💒 Let's Visit Marfo-Marinsky Convent (Guided Tour in Eng)

Dear Friends,

🙋🏼‍♀️ I would like to invite you on an excursion to the Marfo-Marinski Convent, located in the centre of Moscow not far from the Tretyakov Art Gallery.

👸🏻The convent was established by the Grand Duchess Elizabeth in Protected content the assassination of her husband Grand Duke Sergey Romanov.

👑Elizabeth was a grand-daughter of Queen Victoria and the sister of the Empress Alexandra Fedorovna, wife of the last Emperor of Russia, Nicholas II.

🌹Elizabeth established the convent together with the “Sisters of Mercy”, a group of ladies helping needy and poor people.

🖼️ During the excursion to the convent, we will visit the church with its magnificent frescoes of the Russian painter, Mikail Nesterov.

⛪️ This will be a unique opportunity for us to go through the personal home of Grand Duchess Elizabeth where she lived for 10 years until her arrest by the Bolsheviks following the October Revolution.

🌼We will also talk about the many social projects that Elizabeth initiated and which continue to this day including the orphanage.

💐You will become acquainted with the day to day life of the nuns and their hard work.

Feel free to bring toys or things (candies) for the children (orphans).

The tour is 2.5 hours (after the tour we will be visiting a coffee shop to spend time together and discuss social work and charitable projects further and just enjoy each others company).
