Mikis Theodorakis "Canto General"
Mikis Theodorakis was a legendary Greek composer, known worlwide for the "Zorba" syrtaki. But he is much more than that. His music covers a wide range of styles and forms, from symphonic music to popular songs. Even the Beatles have sung one of his songs (the honeymoon song).
Pablo Neruda was a Chilean poet-diplomat and politician who won the Protected content Prize in Literature. Canto General Protected content Neruda's 10th book of poems and consists of 15 sections, Protected content , and more than 15,000 lines.
Theodorakis' Canto General is an "oratorio" based on Neruda's poetry.
Mauthausen is a set of songs based on poems of the Greek poet Kambanellis, a Mauthausen concentration camp survivor.
Laëndi Lipnik is a Belgian conductor, fan of Theodorakis music.
