Najia Mehadji Art Exhibition

Moroccan artist Najia Mehadji is taking over the L'Atelier 21 art gallery in Casablanca , from April 23th , Protected content , for an exhibition

Najia Mehadji was born in Protected content Paris.

Najia Mehadji is a major artist on the contemporary art scene in Morocco. She has also been recognized in France since the Protected content with several museum exhibitions including two retrospectives in Protected content 2019.

Najia Mehadji's work can be divided into several major periods of creation. After fingerprint paintings ( Protected content ) influenced by contemporary music and bodily expression, then large-format, monochrome paintings/drawings on linen canvas, with universal symbolic forms ( Protected content ), she has since developed Protected content centered on gesture, drawing inspiration from oriental calligraphy and dance. She thus creates her own writing in continuous and dynamic lines, in a physical and mental performance. At the same time, she produces works committed against the barbarity of war (particularly on the fate of women) and against the death penalty throughout the world.

Najia Mehadji lives and works between Paris and Essaouira.
