Habiter L’interstice _ SAFAA ERRUAS
L’Atelier 21 is pleased to announce Habiter l’interstice, a new solo exhibition by Safaa Erruas. The exhibition will run from September 29 to November 7, Protected content .
In this new body of work, Safaa Erruas continues her exploration of crossing and borders. She focuses on spaces of passage and transit, particularly the strait, conceived as a territory to inhabit, at once hostile and welcoming. Both geographical and inward, these territories constitute what she calls “the interstice.”
Through her chosen materials — paper, cotton, pins, fibers and threads — Safaa Erruas develops a vocabulary of lines, weaves and geometric forms. Her compositions explore contrasts between void and fullness, shadow and light, creating a balance between density and lightness.
