First Stage of the Camino De Santiago

The walk between Leça da Palmeira and Vila do Conde marks the first stage of the Camino de Santiago, ideal for those who want to start the journey towards the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. At around 20 km and with an estimated time of 4 to 5 hours, the route is moderate and accessible, perfect for beginners and those looking for a peaceful and contemplative experience.
The route follows the Atlantic coast, offering beautiful natural and historical landscapes, with the sea always close by. In addition to being a physical walk, it is also an invitation to reflect and experience a centuries-old tradition, connecting pilgrims with the spirituality and history of the region.
This stage is the ideal starting point for those preparing for the longer journey to Santiago de Compostela, providing a significant first step towards transformation and self-discovery.
Bring water, comfortable walking shoes and clothing to protect from possible wind.
The walk ends in Vila do Conde and the return to Porto will be by metro. You can return on foot and enjoy the fantastic sunset.
Lunch will be free in Vila do Conde
