Grape Harvest Day in the Douro Valley
It's the most wonderful day of the year – the Harvest Experience returns to Quinta do Tedo! This is your chance to get hands-on (and feet too!) experience making wine in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Quinta do Tedo is a slice of heaven, gorgeous vineyards in the heart of the Douro Valley, where the Tedo River flows into the Douro. You have spectacular views in every direction. We start the day with a walk through the vineyards to a traditional harvest breakfast. During the morning we'll pick grapes for a while and learn about all the varieties grown at Tedo. We get a full tour of the facility and learn about making port wine, also sitting down for a port tasting. We'll share a delicious lunch with the owners of the quinta on the terrace overlooking the Douro. And then the experience you'll remember forever – stomping (er, foot-treading) grapes in the quinta's traditional lagares. We'll be knee-deep in grapes and having the time of our lives. Don't miss this one, it's truly a special experience.
Visit Tedo's website (linked on this page) for full details and itinerary. Dress appropriately for weather and our time outdoors, and don't forget sun protection! Feel free to message me with any questions, or you can also contact the quinta directly.
