Evetn description: Discover what a kimono is and discover live the Japanese art of wearing it (kitsuke) in a guided demonstration by a Japanese master.
Would you like to discover the kimono from the perspective of an authentic Japanese master? 🌸
In this activity, we will explore the kimono as a cultural symbol of Japan, learning its history, types, and meaning, as well as getting to know kitsuke, the traditional art of wearing it correctly.
We will begin with an introductory explanation where the master will guide us, with translation into Spanish, through the most important aspects of the kimono: its uses, main pieces (nagajuban, obi, etc.), and cultural curiosities.

Next, we will watch a live practical demonstration in which a volunteer from the audience will be fully dressed, showing step by step the process and different obi knotting styles.

After the demonstration, we will open a participatory space where attendees can ask the master questions and delve deeper into everything learned, fostering close dialogue about this special Japanese tradition.
