The theater company Grand-Guignol and thessaloniki group of cultural tours invite us to approach in a subversive and inclusive way one of the most shocking moments of the recent, dark history of Thessaloniki when on April 9, Protected content , the Nazis occupied Thessaloniki, with the city experiencing unprecedented German occupation terrorism and the almost total annihilation of the "different" element. Instead of becoming a cry, this great trauma is passed from generation to generation like a whisper
1️⃣ First Station: West of the city center 🎧
The experiential route begins with a walking narration in the west of the city center by the journalist Evi Karkitis, looking for the visible and also the invisible traces of the displacement of our Jewish fellow citizens. With the use of personal hearing aids and the help of AI technology, we are mentally transported to that turbulent time, through the voices of people
2️⃣ Second Station: Bus 🚍
We board in a bus, which takes us from the Old Railway Station to a dark industrial warehouse in the west of the city.
3️⃣ Third Station: A dark warehouse in the west of the city 🎭
The warehouse is the third and last stop of our route, which concludes with a special performance, which highlights the universality not only of the Holocaust, but also of racial, class and social divisions .
During the routes, excerpts from "Gioconda" by Nikos Kokantzis, as well as works by Dante Alighieri, Friedrich Nietzsche, Yitzhak Katsnelson, etc.are heard.
