Exhibition Playgrounds & Toys 2000-2025
Playgrounds & Toys is a unique international project conceived in Protected content curator Adelina von Fürstenberg and the Non-Governmental Organization ART for The World, based in Geneva. Since its inception, more than fifty renowned contemporary artists, architects, and designers from around the globe – including Vivan Sundaram, Lauda & Donegani, Andreas Angelidakis, Teresa Serrano, Romi and Martand Khosla, Atelier Van Lieshout, Vito Acconci, and many others – have contributed to this ongoing project.
Playgrounds & Toys brings together over sixty original models of playgrounds and educational toys, each created with simplicity and imagination. Each piece is designed so that the full-scale structure will be both affordable to make and strictly compliant with standard safety requirements, reflecting the cultural diversity of its creators and adapting to the needs of different communities worldwide.
The exhibition, presented in Athens for the first time, aims to highlight the importance of play as a formative and restorative activity that consolidates social bonds and promotes inclusion through collective action.
