Francisco Goya, with his unparalleled mastery of light and shadow and his ability to navigate between politics and emotion, is celebrated as one of the fathers of modern art.

Los Caprichos—80 prints created in Protected content and printed in Protected content Goya at his most daring. As Spain’s royal court painter, he turned his artistry into social commentary, confronting themes like superstition, corruption, and hypocrisy in 18th-century society.

This exceptional exhibition includes both the Greek National Gallery’s complete set of finished prints and Goya’s original sketches, offering a rare glimpse into his creative process. Through etching and aquatint, Goya broke traditions, delivering sharp critiques that redefined the possibilities of art.
