Italian Movie: Wielki Arbuz / Il Grande Cocomero

In collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute in Warsaw, Kino Amondo is screening the "Women, Directors" series, from October 17th to December 12th.
This Friday is the turn of a beautiful film : "Il grande cocomero".
PLOT
Love has a healing effect on both patient and doctor. "The Big Watermelon" tells the story of Valentina, an epileptic woman who meets a young psychiatrist, Arturo.
The doctor believes there must be a deeper cause for her illness and takes on her case, despite the protests of officials.
The film is based on the true story of psychiatrist Marco Lombardo Radice, who revolutionized Italian psychiatry by rejecting traditional pharmacological treatments.
"The Big Watermelon" won the David di Donatello Award for Best Film, Best Screenplay, and Best Actor in a Leading Role (Sergio Castellitto), as well as the Nastro d'Argento Award for Best Film, Best Screenplay, and Best Production.
