Eating Fresh Trout Together at a Straussi
I will not be there but Geraldine will be taking care of you.
Read she says below: Call her number below in case in case of any questions.
THIS IS A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE THAT YOU’LL NEVER FORGET!
I go there every year when they open for their homemade wine and fresh trout (open in fall and spring; only Thursday to Sunday from 5pm).
(See Link + text at end for more info about a Straussi:-)
We can meet first at 7 PM in front of my apartment -Protected content (10 minutes by car).
If you are coming by car could you please tell me if you could take some of our BaselConnect members with you – and if so, how many (including you) would fit into your car?
Also, if you want to come could you please give me an answer by Wednesday noon, 1.11.17?
Concerning the reservation – because I have to phone Protected content Wednesday afternoon to let him know how many people are actually coming!
Tipp: they don’t have credit cards there so if you can’t pay in euros please bring CHF in small bills (10s and 20s, because if you pay with a Protected content note you will get your change back in euros with their exchange rate!).
I’m really looking forward to sharing fresh trout with you at Protected content this Thursday evening, if you can make it!
We’re gonna have a whole Lot of Fun! 🍷😜
INFO: WHAT IS A STRAUSSI?
A Straussi is a special family restaurant found only in the wine growing regions of southern Germany. Straussis are officially only open at special times – e.g. in spring and fall because of the wine production. They are only allowed to sell products which they produce themselves – e.g. wine, fresh trout, potatoes, and salad etc. Since they don't have to pay any income tax, the prices are incredibly reasonable. In addition, they are only allowed to accommodate a limited number of guests which results in a cosy or "gemütlich" atmosphere.
This historically old Soder's Straussi is just over the Basel border in Haltingen, Weil am Rhein, Germany.😜🌻
