Is your food culture affecting your weight?

Do you feel joy when you are having a meal surrounded by your loved ones?
Do you get nervous when your grandma walks into the dinning room with a big pot of rice, asking everyone, ”More Rice” as she walks towards you?
Do you sometimes feel guilty about overeating at a family event?
For many Latin Americans, their food culture has a great influence on their biology, eating habits, attitudes, and body weight.
If you grew up with eating habits based on ethnic, or other cultural traditions, those practices may be strongly embedded in your thinking. The types of foods you choose, how you prepare them, the seasonings you add, when you eat, how much you eat, and how much you think you should weigh, can all have a great impact on your social life.
Join us to explore:
-How your food culture may be affecting your weight loss goals.
- Why do our grandparents always insist on us eating literally everything in front of us
- How to resist the social pressure
- Why you should not feel guilty when you choose not to attend a gathering
- How to raise awareness around healthier cooking methods
Guest Speaker: Leon Gilbert, Weight Loss Thought Leader, Coach Writer, and author of the hit book "Weight Loss Starts With The Mind"
The presentation will be in English but Leon speaks also Spanish for questions.
