Cycling and Wine Tasting in Provence
Some of my InterNations London friends are organizing a wonderful cycling and wine tasting experience in the heart of a beautifully scenic and culturally rich wine producing area of Provence in southern France.
Aimed at leisure cyclists, you don't have to be a cycling pro, but make sure you are reasonably fit as there are are a few gentle hills but, the routes are along gorgeous country off-road trails and quiet roads, generally away from cars.
As a reward for the cycling, each day's ride will have a wine-tasting session where you can experience the best of what the region has to offer and straight from the source, as well as wine-cellar and wine-production visits. Don't worry though - you will only be drinking an equivalent of one full glass of wine maximum in the tasting session, followed by food, so you are not going to be drunk in charge!
There will also be gastronomic meals and cultural visits to typical Provencal villages and other attractions.
Over a long weekend, you will be 3 nights away and the meeting point will be Marseille airport.
- Airport minibus pickup and drop-off
- 3 nights comfortable accommodation + breakfast (swimming pool available)
- 2 days cycle hire/helmet hire and guided cycle tours
- 3 wine tasting sessions including one authentic and delicious aperitif/meal!
- One or more cultural visit by minibus
- Flights to and from Nice Airport
- Lunches, dinners and other personal expenses.
We will eat in typical regional and gastronomic restaurants, allowing you to sample the local gastronomy according to your appetite with typical menu prices of 15 to 25 Euros, plus drinks.
You will be sharing a room and bathroom with one or more people, mostly with single beds and some double beds available. Reserve early for your preferred option.
Currently, flights are available for around €50 return
