Their Story

"Since Protected content Music Theatre has provided a venue in this space for people to enjoy great sketch comedy and live music in a custom-tailored state of the art performing facility. As fans and proteges of RMT, we at The Music Box strive to continue the legacy of quality live musical entertainment and comedy in our own original way. We think Houstonians deserve a consistent, dependable place to relax, have a drink or two, laugh, and hear great live music. Comprised of 5 professional Houston-based actor-singers, The Music Box Theater will write and produce four - six 2 act comedies each year, centered around popular music from across the decades. It's songs you know sung by people you should know, and we've got something for everybody. " Protected content Music Box Theater website

What the Houston Press Says

"Sax It Up The Music Box Theater is getting a little horny with Keep It Brassy. The troupe, known for making big music with only a handful of performers, is spicing it up for the upcoming show. “We’re bringing in three horn and reed players to join our three-piece band,” says co-owner Rebekah Dahl. “For the first time, the musicians will outnumber our singers. We’re basically doing all the music we wanted to do in the last six years but couldn’t do because we didn’t have horn players.” So what does that music entail? Imagine the greatest numbers from Chicago, James Brown, Otis Redding, George Michael, Broadway hits and even Bruno Mars." Protected content Byrd, Houston Press
