Smugglers Notch Scenic Cycling Road

This is a road bike cycling and helmets are mandatory.

a. Cycling the Smugglers Notch Scenic Road, located in Mount Mansfield State Forest, is one of the most uniquely scenic climbs in the eastern United States. Expect a truly memorable journey through dense alpine forests and breathtaking mountain vistas as you make your way to the Smugglers’ Notch Summit. This beautiful touring ride covers 80 km with an elevation gain of 1,203 meters, offering both a challenging and rewarding experience. The estimated duration is 5 hours and 30 minutes, including breaks. Perfect for riders seeking adventure, this route combines physical challenge with spectacular scenery, promising a cycling experience that captures the very essence of Vermont’s Green Mountains. c. Know before you go: Bring enough water, some snacks, and of course your lunch. However, you will be able to buy some sandwiches at Shaw's (Stowe, Vermont).
