Exhibition "Expressionism: an Art of Cinema"
The exhibition reveals the intense dialogue between Expressionism, which emerged in early 20th-century Germany in response to a turbulent era marked by industrialization, social crisis, and the trauma of WW I; and cinema. From The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari to Metropolis, by way of Otto Dix's urban landscapes and Käthe Kollwitz's tormented portraits, the exhibition invites visitors to delve into a haunting, radical, and fascinating world.
The tour combines Protected content and film fragments to take us on a unique journey to the heart of expressionism, whose influence still resonates in contemporary art and in the films of creators such as Tim Burton, Guillermo del Toro, and David Lynch.
