London Symphony Orchestra & Barbara Hannigan

It is safe to say that Barbara Hannigan is a legend. Those who saw her at work at La Monnaie as Lulu, in which she not only sang fantastically, but also danced on pointe, can only agree. At Bozar, she takes on yet another challenge. In addition to the moving soprano part of Mahler's Fourth Symphony, she will also keep the London Symphony Orchestra on their toes. For this symphony, described by many as Mahler's most accessible, the orchestra performs Messiaen's rarely performed L'Ascension ("The Ascension"). In four colourful symphonic scenes, the French composer attempts to translate his connection with God into music.
