Wiener Symphoniker
Mozart & Strauss
Following their successful appearance in Protected content , the brothers Arthur and Lukas Jussen are returning toProtected content
. This time, they will share the stage with none other than the Wiener Symphoniker led by Petr Popelka. The programme is Viennese too: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart wrote his double concerto for two pianos for his elder sister Maria Anna. In a child’s game of questions and answers, the two pianos share out the melodies fairly: there is no hint of sibling rivalry. Hiking in the mountains with friends might seem to be a recent trend, but Richard Strauss was lacing up his hiking boots back in Protected content . He didn’t return with a phone full of photos, but he did write the symphonic poem Eine Alpensinfonie to remind him of the steep climbs, breathtaking views and a nasty storm.
