Join me to explore the iconic State Library of Victoria through a guided tour of its legendary spaces and hear about the fascinating history of this beautiful building.
The spaces you’ll visit include:
• The magnificent heritage reading rooms (La Trobe Reading Room and Redmond Barry Reading Room) where visitors can browse collections of books, magazines and music
• Renowned galleries and The Ian Potter Queens Hall
• The new display of Ned Kelly’s armour

The duration of the guided tour is 1 hour.
After the tour we will proceed to explore World of the Book , Australia’s longest running and most popular book exhibition, in which features more than Protected content , remarkable and historically significant items from the State Collection.
Travel through the history of the book and marvel at:
• An illuminated manuscript made for a Medici,
• Fan art inspired by Andy Griffiths's Treehouse series,
• One of the oldest printed texts in the world, the Hyakumantō Darani of Japan,
• The evolution of manga – from Hokusai to Astro Boy; and much more.
