Pierogi are traditional Polish dumplings 🇵🇱🥟
What are they?
Pierogi are pieces of dough (similar to pasta dough) filled with various savory or sweet fillings
*boiled pierogi (most common),
*sometimes pan-fried after boiling for extra flavor.
They’re usually served with toppings like butter, fried onions, sour cream, or bacon bits.
Common types of pierogi
Savory:
🥔 Pierogi ruskie – potato, farmer’s cheese (twaróg), onion
🥩 Meat pierogi – minced meat
🥬 Sauerkraut & mushroom – very traditional, especially at Christmas
🧀 Cheese – savory version
Sweet:
🍓 Fruit pierogi – strawberries, blueberries, cherries

Where are they from?
