Tall Ships on the Hudson - 2026 Bicentennial.
July 4th Morning
If you haven't made plans yet to see the Tall Ships — here's another option and it's free!
Join me watching from Fort Washington Park, right at the Little Red Lighthouse directly beneath the GW Bridge. Why? Because GW Bridge is the endpoint of the entire parade of 48 tall ships from 20 nations.
As the ships reach the bridge they'll be adjusting their sails and maneuvering to make the turn south — giving us a front row seat not just to the parade but to the ships in action, up close.
The parade begins at 9:30 AM and the lead ships are expected at the bridge around 11:45 AM.
This is a huge event and the spot fills early.
I'll be at the 181st Pedestrian Footbridge at 8:45 AM to walk down together.
Suggested directions:
* Take the A train to 181st (Fort Washington Ave exit). There is a Starbucks across from the exit if you want to grab a coffee.)
* At exit walk west toward Hudson - at street dead end make a right and you'll see the Pedestrian Footbridge.
* From the footbridge it's about a 20 minute walk to the waterfront, with a scenic descent under the bridge. The path down is paved but steep, good shoes recommended.
