Art Between Movements and Avant-Gardes

⭐first major retrospective exhibition on Mario Schifano⭐
promoted by the Departmento of Culture - Rome.
Schifano is one of the most significant artist in recent Italian art,
is presented at Protected content
to highlight the figures & movements
that shaped the visual culture of the time.
The exhibition provides over Protected content , among the most representative, from public & private collections, in the 'rotunda' & seven piano nobile rooms, with the works in chronological order, till the Protected content .
In the age of movements & avangardes, Schifano's main visual😍inventions are evident:
from experimental & photographic works to monochromes,
from new iconographies to moving images,
with a 🔝 pioneering mix of photography (often attributed to other artists),
up to works of explicit social commitment,
Schifano often anticipated avant-gardes & various movements.
Along the exhibition, there are exuberant uses of innovative techniques, materials & processes, very different from each other.
A significant part is given to cinema; throughout the duration of the exhibition, a program of screenings is dedicated to the Palazzo Esposizioni hall, allowing visitors free & repeated admission.
