Al Awda Screening & Discussion - Taking Action for Palestine

Dear KL Changemakers,

You are invited to attend the Al Awda Screening and Panel Discussion on 5 December at 8.30pm @ the Theatre, Damansara Performing Arts Centre (DPAC). This event is organised by local activist Deborah Augustin, director Jason Soo and co-organised with Viva Palestina Malaysia and the Hashim Sani Centre for Palestine Studies.

In Protected content , filmmaker Jason Soo boarded the Al Awda with activists attempting to break the Israeli siege on Gaza. On board, Soo captures the preparations the activists make for their confrontation with the Israeli navy. Al Awda tells the story of what it takes to unite for the greater good. Don’t miss this chance to understand what it’s like to be onboard a flotilla to Gaza!

The screening will be followed by the panel “From Flotillas to BDS: Taking Action for Palestine” to hear from Jason, Palestinian activist Baha Hilo, and advocates Prof Nazari Ismail, Norma Hashim, Xiang Xiang about how you can take action for a Free Palestine. Come and learn how you can turn your passion for Palestine into action!
