With shamanic rhythms, laid-back electronic structures, danceable beats, and psychedelic guitar riffs, Islandman brings the sound of Anatolia into the future.
Turkish songwriter, producer, and musician Tolga Böyük has, through his project Islandman, created a musical persona that tells stories from the beyond, woven through dreamy space-funk and Turkish psychedelic tones. Since its inception, Islandman has evolved into an electro-acoustic trio featuring Tolga Böyük on vocals, electronics, and guitar, alongside Eralp Güven on percussion and Erdem Başer on guitar. Spacey guitar figures and danceable beats drift in and out of hazy electronic textures, anchored by shamanic percussion. This is Islandman’s interpretation of the sound of Anatolia. Not as a fossilized relic of the past, but as a living cultural memory, constantly seeking new forms of expression.

Right from their debut single “Agit” (Requiem) in Protected content , Islandman caught the attention of Danish label Music For Dreams, helmed by legendary DJ Kenneth Bager. Since then, they’ve released several full-length studio albums—and this autumn, they’re set to drop their fifth release, ‘Island5’. We’ve had the honor of presenting Islandman before, and therefore we can truly say: Get ready for a trippy and funky live show, that’s part ceremony, part dance party, and wholly unforgettable.
