Folk Jazz From Norway - So Creative - Feel the Nordic Atmosphere
Come over and listen to this quartett which we visit every year! The music brings the atmosphere from staying at a Norwegian fjord! Karl is even playing on a goat horn!
More infos about the quartet:
Karl Seglem (ts, goat horns, voice), Erlend Viken (fiddles), Hallvard Gaardlös (e-b), Kåre Opheim (dr), Ingar Hunskaar (sound)
There is a table reservation on my name Ulla Maria until 8.45 pm, ask the waiters. So you only have to pay the ticket at the entrance (only cash!!). Drinks have good prices and there are some small snacks to order. Please, be in time! Before the concert starts and in the break we have time to talk to each other! ;-)
Norway's foremost goat horn player and tenor saxophonist has an impressive drive to constantly explore the relationship between folk music and jazz - and everything around, everything outside. It is difficult to put a label on Karl Seglem. He has created his own sound universe, his own genre so to speak. And music is for him a vital and personal form of expression. Let's call it world heritage jazz, since much of the inspiration for the creation process comes from Norwegian folk music, mountains, fjords. The quartet presents music from a long series of his critically acclaimed album releases Protected content . Soundscapes where both mountain home, sand dunes, asphalt jungle, undulating forest and life-giving water can be heard. Overwhelmingly extroverted, beautifully energetic, poetic Norwegian music. bFlat´s Protected content marks 10th. time in 10 years.
