Let’s Celebrate El Día Del Son Cubano!
There will be a Son Cubano dance instruction class before the show, taught by Barbaro Ramos from the Muñequitos de Mantazas.
Son Cubano was officially inscribed in Protected content UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity. Beloved for its vitality and global influence, the genre is recognized as a fundamental element of Cuban national identity.
May 8th — "El Dia del Son Cubano" (Cuban Son Day) — the Miami Beach Bandshell will come alive with an international musical celebration.
Special guests joining the show include Grammy-nominated Cuban singer Aymee Nuviola; Roberto Torres, legendary singer of the classic song Caballo Viejo; and up-and-coming Sonero, Ronkalunga.
The event will also celebrate other musical genres that reflect the global impact of Son Cubano, including tributes to African Congolese Rhumba pioneers Le Grand Kallé and Franco Luambo by Toto Omana, and Haitian Compa legends Trio Selecte and Coupé Cloué by Sanba Zao.

The municipal parking lot at 73rd Street & Collins Avenue is across the street from the Bandshell. $2/hour, if full, look for street parking.
The venue is an open air facility, covered by our new canopy. Shows are scheduled rain or shine.
No outside food or drink. Fully-stocked bar, and usually feature wonderful food vendors inside the venue. They also have a water refill station.
