Exhibition Tour: Lee Miller, A Photographer at Work (1932—1945)
This event follows our viewing of the recent movie release 'Lee' starring Kate Winslet which took place on 1st October. A movie about the work of war correspondent Lee Miller
Join Gaëlle Morel, the Image Centre's Exhibitions Curator, and Eve Townsend who will host the last exhibition tour of the season. They walk visitors through the works on view in the exhibition entitled 'Lee Miller, A Photographer at Work Protected content .

This exhibition explores one of the most intense and productive chapters in the professional life of American photographer Lee Miller. Between Protected content Protected content was simultaneously a renowned portrait photographer running her own studio in New York Protected content , a photographer for perfume and cosmetic brands in advertising Protected content , and a fashion photographer and war correspondent for the British edition of Vogue Protected content . This short time span encompasses a rich history in which the photographer moved between and linked her various practices
About the exhibition curator:
Eve Townsend is a lecturer in the School of Fashion at Toronto Metropolitan University, where she is the Director of TMU's Fashion Research Collection. Her research focuses on fashions and material culture of the twentieth century. She is the co-author of Schreiner: Masters of Twentieth-Century Costume Jewelry
