Sorry for the last minute notice - but the weather seems to be clearing....Hike cancels if we don't make the minimum # of 5 hikers.
We'll go to Okutama, and go up Hinode-yama to Mitake-san.
We depart JR Shinjuku station at 9:08 on a Chuo line express train to
Ome. This train leaves (USUALLY) from platform Protected content regular Chuo line platform,
NOT the platform for other express trains - but this may have changed and I suggest you double check for time and destination for the proper platform
. As usual, let's meet at the Protected content
Our net vertical climb is Protected content . This is a little above our
average, but the hike should not be very difficult since the climb is
steady with no steep slopes, and we can take a cable car down if you like.

There are good views of the Kanto plain towards central Tokyo, and the
Mitake temple area and mountaintop village are quite scenic.
Our time in motion is about 5 hours. We should get to our return
station by about 16:00 at the latest, and be back to Shinjuku by 17:30
or 18:00.

Please bring the necessary items for making your hike safe and fun. e.g. 2 liters of water, hiking stick, boots, hat and sun screen.

Please let me know if you plan on attending so that I can be looking out for you at the train platform. I look forward to meeting all of you and friends you would like to invite
