Heta-Uma 2 - A Raw, Free and Touching Japanese Exhibition
Born in Japan several centuries ago, but only named in the Protected content , the Heta-Uma style emerged as a rebellion against the perfection and rigid aesthetics of traditional Japanese culture.
In Japan, a distinction is generally made between High Art (contemporary art) and popular art (manga). But between these two major currents lies a free zone: Low Brow Art, a wild territory of underground creativity.
Ten years after the exhibition organized by Pakito Bolino at the MIAM in Sète, Heta-Uma returns with a vengeance!
This second edition will introduce you to new talents and rediscover the artists of the past whose work has powerfully evolved.
