A Taste of Moldova — Wine Evening at Kliemstein
Between Romania and Ukraine lies one of Europe's oldest and most underrated wine countries: Moldova. This month, the InterNations wine circle heads to Kliemstein Vinothek for an evening dedicated entirely to Moldovan winemaking — four glasses, four styles, one delicious discovery.
We'll taste our way through:
🥂 Rădăcini Blanc de Cabernet Brut — a sparkling white made, surprisingly, from red Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Light and citrusy with notes of nectarine and grapefruit — the perfect welcome glass.
🍐 VinoVistara Pinot Grigio — crisp, bright, and fruit-forward, with ripe pear and white nectarine on the nose. A textbook aperitif white.
🍋 Fautor "Blanca" Albariño — Moldova's answer to Spain's Atlantic coast. Vibrant acidity, citrus, and a touch of saline minerality from a grape rarely grown outside Spain and Portugal.
🌸 Castel Mimi Rară Neagră Rosé — made from an ancient native Moldovan grape, with delicate strawberry, redcurrant, and grapefruit notes. Elegant, pale, and refreshing — a Gold Medal winner.
Whether you're a wine novice or a self-declared enthusiast, come curious, meet new people, and leave with a new favorite grape you've never heard of.
