Man Up; the New Misogyny & Rise of Violent Extremism FREE!
Good News! We have been able to re-schedule this previously planned but cancelled event!
Cynthia Miller-Idriss, a leading expert on extremism and radicalization, presents her urgent and provocative new book Man Up, which explores how misogyny is not merely a side effect but a central force driving violent extremism worldwide. Through gripping stories, sharp analysis, and compelling research, she reveals how gender-based resentments fuel the rise of hate movements — and why understanding this connection is vital to combating them.
Along with Tobias Ginsburg, journalist and author, who infiltrated right-wing extremist networks worldwide for his research and reports on the inner workings of these mostly male-only groups, they will both talk about the structural, personal, and ideological connections between misogyny and right-wing extremism in Germany, the US, and beyond.
Moderator: Lubi Barre
In addition to an introduction, the event will feature a discussion with Miller-Idriss and Ginsburg, followed by a Q&A session and a book signing. Books will be available for purchase at the event.
The event will be held in English and German, with a handout in German available for the English portion, which will be limited to the introduction.
The event is a cooperation with the Friedrich Ebert Foundation and with the kind support of the U.S. Department of State.
