Alan Lucien Owen
Simulacrum, a new piece by Norvegian Alan Lucien Øyen, is both visually thrilling and choreographically outstanding. It features Shôji Kôjima et Daniel Projetto, two stellar dancers whose age and culture differ. The former, aged 77, moved from Japan to Spain in Protected content become a flamenco master. The latter left his native Argentina, for Japan - through Norway – to study kabuki’s onnagta acting (female role) alongside Fujima Kanjuro’s renowned family. But beyond flamenco and kabuki, Simulacrum is an intersection that tells us about transcending the givens of our birth and assert our desires.
