Dear art lovers,

The Landesmuseum of Mainz shows the special exhibition of works made by Emy Roeder. This very small exhibition is one of those little "gems" of modern art history - with not that well-known artist and its very precious works. Why not discover it together?

"Emy Roeder ( Protected content ) was one of the most skillful sculptresses of the 20th century. Based on a few themes Roeder developed her very individual figurative style, which was firstly influenced by nature and became more and more the work of playful forms. During her life, she was interested in exploring and catching the essence of the human existence visualizing it by topics like strength, fragility, love and a deep need for protection, but also loneliness. Although small sized Roeder´s works possess a radiant presence. By looking at female acts or robed figures, portrayed groups of female friends or siblings, the viewer will immediately be captured by the beauty of these objects. The exhibition shows sculptural and graphic works as well."
