Let´s Visit Together: La Vie Moderne in Mannheim
Dear art lover,
already in March on display, but we can visit together, if you will be here around the Easter.
The exhibition presents around 75 works of the French avant-garde: drawings, watercolours, lithographs, etchings, and woodcuts from the period between Protected content 1918, drawn from the Kunsthalle’s collection.
At its core is the tension-filled picture that art of the 19th and early 20th centuries paints between tradition and modernity. Particular attention is given to “modern life” (la vie moderne), with its implications such as everyday life in the big city, technological progress, but also social contrasts and challenges, as well as new genres of imagery and media.
Looking forward to seeing you.
