Film "Stromboli – Terra Di Dio"

Hi everyone,
For our next event, I would like to suggest a great classic of Italian cinema: “Stromboli – Terra di Dio”, directed by Roberto Rossellini in Protected content starring Ingrid Bergman.

The film tells the story of Karin, a young foreign woman who, after marrying an Italian fisherman, moves with him to the island of Stromboli. There, she suddenly finds herself immersed in a reality completely different from her own, marked by poverty, traditions, and the imposing presence of the volcano. Her growing sense of isolation forces her to confront herself and the world around her.

“Stromboli” is particularly interesting because it combines Italian Neorealism with the presence of one of the greatest international stars of the time, Ingrid Bergman. Rossellini uses the real environment of the island, local inhabitants, and everyday situations to create a cinema that is extremely realistic, yet at the same time deeply introspective.

The island is not simply the backdrop to the story: Stromboli and its volcano almost become characters in their own right.
