Busy day! Walk in the park, then lunch, then hedgehogs
FIRST, we meet at the park at 10.20u (exact location to be determined), begin walking at 10.30u sharp and have a walk there for 1.5 hours. There are Scottish Highland cattle that roam about, that we hope to see.
"To keep the dune landscape open and varied a herd of Scottish Highland cows has been introduced to the Protected content . The shaggy haired cows walk about freely, which means that you can encounter them anywhere on the nature reserve. The Scottish Highland cows are easily approachable, but you are recommended to keep at least 25 metres away, especially when there are young calves in the herd."
THEN, lunch at Strandpaviljoen de Kwartel at 12.00u, Strandslag, Protected content Den Haag. (pay for your own consumption)
FINALLY, a visit to the Hedgehog Rescue Center at 13.30u, corner of Savornin Lohmanlaan and Laan van Poot. (gratis, yet a donation will be requested) "The volunteers from Egelopvang Den Haag are committed to help sick and injured hedgehogs." They are open 1 day/month for visitors and are planning a special tour for our group at 13.30u.
Want to meet us for just part of the activities yet not all?
That's fine, let me know!
All in located in the same area-ish, count on walking for a couple of hours though. Comfortable shoes.
Thanks to Katja ter Brugge for the idea for this activity!
