Avant Garde performance Oslo World: Toxic Masculinity
We'll have a meet-and-greet half hour before the performance starts, and stay on to discuss after. The performance is from 17.00 to 19.00 according to the program. Oslo World is an art festival that uses art as activism.
Here from the presentation: Avant-garde considered a continuous action of pushing boundaries is fundamental when talking about gender equality.
Artists from the United States, Colombia, Lebanon and Norway share with the audience how art can challenge the status quo and be a tool for pushing the limits of what is considered feminin/masculine, aiming to create a multidimensional representation of gender.
Their artistic productions remind us that gender identity, gender expression, biological sex, and sexual orientation are mutually independent. They underline, as well, the importance of talking about our bodies in order to avoid stigmas and taboos.
