Melodies From Porgy and Bess
The Ensemble Fiacorda offers you a very attractive evening with music by Rossini, Blanc and Gershwin in the Protected content Museum.
The concert begins with the popular and joyful overture to Gioachino Rossini's opera, Semiramide. Adolphe Blanc ( Protected content ) is rather like a French Rossini: his septet is full of melodies and shows off the spectacular possibilities of all seven instruments. The concert comes to a close with a series of popular melodies from George Gershwin's Porgy and Bess.
This concert series is particularly attractive for families with children (ages 4 to 12): The children listen to the Rossini overture up front near the stage and then go to a musical workshop in another part of the museum, supervised by experienced, pedagogical experts who know how to engage your children in a creative, interactive session where they explore the music they just heard.
Because of the advantageous ticket prices for people bringing children, adults don't need to find a babysitter and can enjoy the rest of the program knowing that their kids are well taken care of.
These concerts are followed by a traditional "Apéro" where the audience can mingle with the musicians. The children have a special table and can show us what they accomplished in the musical workshop.
