InterNations — A Community for American Expats in Ankara

Hello to all Americans in Ankara! Are you interested in getting to know fellow expats in Ankara? Looking for advice from other Americans, e.g. wondering if there are any bars in Ankara which will be showing your favorite baseball or American football team’s upcoming match or where to go in town for st■ turkey?

There’s no doubt about it: as Turkey’s second-most populous city and the country’s capital, Ankara is not only of political importance but also a commercial and industrial center in the country. The “Heart of Turkey” is a sophisticated city known for the international flair typical of a capital city, its historical center with the Ankara castle and citadel, being home to the famous Angora cat breed, and much more! With the bus and minibus network as well as Ankara’s metro system, navigating your way around the city from one place to the next is simple. This also means that if you don’t want to live among the hustle and bustle of the center, you can enjoy a quieter life in one of the outer districts such as Yenimahalle or Golbasi, which are about an hour away from Ankara’s center.

Although Ankara has lots to offer, you might be wondering where and how you can meet other Americans in the city. Luckily, InterNations is here to make this easier for you! You’re warmly invited to join the InterNations community. Within our international network in Ankara, there’s a vibrant circle of American expats from all regions of USA, including New York City, Los Angeles, and beyond.
