Health care experiences in Dakar? Good/bad?

Hello Senegal expats!

I hope most of you have had healthy stays in Senegal. Still, for those who have used the health system, I was wondering what your experiences have been like? I'm interested in learning about both minor and more serious health concerns/experiences. Good, bad?

Are there any things that you would seriously recommend medical evacuation out of Senegal for? I'm just trying to figure out if I need to get complimentary health insurance to what my employer is giving (in-country coverage only) and the state of the health system in general, I'm not expecting it to be 10 stars, but to get a sense of the strengths and weaknesses of it.
