rote:
A placement option which I was exploring in Nepal fell through and I was
wondering if through InterNations Kathmandu that information on which agencies
would be best to approach maybe forthcoming:

A little about myself, my name is Suzanne Kady and I reside in Coffs Harbour, NSW,
Australia and I am entering my final year of Humanitarian and Community Studies
through Charles Darwin University. I undertook this study as a way of formalizing
the knowledge and expertise I had gained over the past thirty years as a member of
the NSW Police Force. Retiring on the rank of Sergeant with expertise in dealing
with Children and Young People who enter the criminal justice system. Developing
preventative programs, educating both young people and their parents and
interacting with the wider community around youth issues were all facets of the
role.

My formal qualifications include a Bachelor of Policing, Diploma of Training and
Assessment and hopefully by next year a Bachelor of Humanitarian and Community
Studies, I also hold a current First Aid Certificate and Working With Children
Check.

I am currently employed as a contractor for Juvenile Justice, facilitating Youth
Justice Conferences.

The requirements of the BHCS is that each student undertakes a 50 day field
placement whereby we integrate the theory and skills developed throughout the
course within a professional practice environment. The placement is undertaken
during Semester 2 which is around July/ August/ September Protected content . - timing
negotiable.

The following is the Unit Outline: This unit is a key practice unit that places
students into the working environment of a community-based, humanitarian or
development aid agency either in remote Australia, urban Australia or
internationally for 50 corporate working days. The overall objective of the
placement is to gain first-hand practical skills and experiences in the sector of
community development or international humanitarian aid and development. This
placement aims to expose students to the professional practice environment of the
placement agency during which students are required to complete agreed tasks as
negotiated with the respective agency.
I do hope you may be able to assist in referring me to suitable placement options.
