InterNations — A Community for American Expats in Lima

Hello to all Americans in Lima! Are you interested in getting to know fellow expats in Lima? Looking for advice from other Americans, e.g. wondering if there are any bars in Lima which will be showing your favorite baseball or American football team’s upcoming match or where to go in town for st■ turkey?

There’s no doubt about it: Lima will offer you a vibrant, multicultural experience. The capital of Peru is a desert city known for being home to one of the world’s oldest universities — the National University of San Marcos dates back to the 16th century — but also for being Peru’s cultural, financial, political, and commercial center, for its historic city center (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), the tasty cuisine, and much more! With the available minibuses, electric express buses, and the Lima Metro, navigating your way around the city from one place to the next is simple. This also means that if you don’t want to live among the hustle and bustle of the center, you can enjoy a quieter life in districts such as Miraflores or Santiago de Surco, for example, which are up to half an hour away from Lima’s center.

Although Lima has lots to offer, you might be wondering where and how you can meet other Americans in the city. Luckily, InterNations is here to make this easier for you! You’re warmly invited to join the InterNations community. Within our international network in Lima, there’s a vibrant circle of American expats from all regions of USA, including New York City, Los Angeles, and beyond.

InterNations and the Lima Community helped me to learn a lot about Peru and the Peruvian culture -- not to mention Lima's nightlife. ;)
