Learning russian (Moscow)

Hi, I am considering to start learning Russian from zero. What do you think it is the best way to doy it? How long more or less will it take me? My interest is due that in Russia work as a pilot, is well paid, conditions are good, and as I read they are demanding a lot of pilots in Russia, but first requirement is to speak Russian.
Is it better to learn in Spain the basic and then move to Russia to improve the language? Is there any university where foreign people can learn Russian in an intensive program?
