Air Mauritius is the National Airline of the Republic of Mauritius and is majority owned by the Government of Mauritius. In its 48 years of existence, Air Mauritius has played its role as a national airline bridging Mauritius to the world. Connectivity being vital for the
island, Air Mauritius is a driving force of the Mauritian economy, particularly that of its tourism industry.

Position Summary
The CEO is the Executive Director of the Company reporting to its Board of Directors and responsible for the safe, efficient and profitable operation of the airline. He / She leads the overall growth and management of the airline, with responsibility for all key
functional aspects of the carrier, including corporate strategy, sales and marketing, network management, distribution, finance, human resources, government and regulatory affairs, legal, information technology and all aspects of operations – flight operations, maintenance and engineering, airport operations, in-flight customer service and systems operations control.

 Lead the development of the overall strategic direction and business plan of Air Mauritius, by orchestrating an ongoing planning process that produces a clear and compelling corporate vision with mid-and long-term business objectives.
 Based on the broad direction provided by the strategic plan, develop the airline’s annual business plan, operating plan and operating budget.
 Manage ongoing business and operating performance against the plans and budgets.
 Provide timely and accurate reporting on financial and operating results, and other projects.

 Develop and execute an organizational plan for all key functions within the airline, which details the organization’s personnel needs as a function of the airline’s strategic and operating plans.
 Provide strong and inspired leadership to all the employees of Air
Mauritius, promoting and maintaining strong employee morale. Establish high expectations for all employees with regard to performance and adherence to company values.
 Play the lead role in evolving the corporate culture for the airline in a manner consistent with the business focus of the company and shareholder return expectations.

 Has illustrated his or her skills in overcoming challenges and adversity, effectively tackling the numerous hurdles that will be in his or her way and not daunted or frustrated by the challenges associated dealing with well-entrenched bureaucracies.
 Has demonstrated an ability to adjust to new working environments and cultures around the globe, adapting his or her approach to local requirements.
 Combines a highly numerate, fact-based and analytical orientation with a high level of creativity, innovation and lateral thinking ability as related to positioning a new and different value proposition into a traditional marketplace, with success.

 Has at least a postgraduate degree in the relevant field acceptable to the Board.
 15 years’ experience at Senior Management position in a reputable
organization of which preferably 5 years in the airline industry.
 Broad-based aviation industry knowledge and managerial experience, gained as a developing or seasoned airline executive across a number of areas.

 General management experience, having managed a profit-and-loss on a standalone, subsidiary or divisional basis. Consideration also will be given to individuals who have strong functional leadership experience, ideally across multiple functions, and are now ready to assume a general management role.
 Strong evidence of commercial and strategic thinking, with a sharp focus on the marketplace.
 Ideally, brings experience in the government-owned airline sectors.
 Possesses strong business and financial acumen, ideally with direct exposure to business domains, such as finance or commercial.
 A charismatic and passionate individual, with considerable public speaking and media relations experience, who conveys authority and enthusiasm about his or her venture.
 Brings strong international experience.
 An unblemished record as related to his or her ethical integrity and that of the organizations he or she has served.
 Willing and able to relocate to Mauritius.

Salary is attractive and will commensurate with experience and qualifications.
