Can anyone confirm what the legal requirement is for a company to mandate getting a doctor's note?
My company is requiring that I get a pediatrician's note (HR is telling me its a legal requirement) if I take a Child-Sick day.
For the 5 days for myself, that I understand, but why for just 1 day for a child.
There are many instances where my child will have a low-grade fever for a single day. That is enough to keep him home, but not enough to pack him up and take him to the doctor (even if I could get the appointment).
- Is this really a legal requirement, OR - Is this just a way for the company to control abuse of Child-Sick days by employees.
