New Concert Series in Greenwich Village, New York " Music on MacDougal"
Co-created and curated by pianist Sheryl Lee, The Players Theatre’s hot new concert series “Music On MacDougal” is opening its door to serve the New York community and a platform for artists to come together. Located in the heart of Greenwich Village, Music on MacDougal promises to become one of New York’s most interesting presenters featuring a diverse musical style to include jazz, contemporary, multi-disciplinary, bluegrass, fusion, rock, world music, hip-hop and classical.
The season opening is on SEPTEMBER 17th, celebrating the 50th Anniversary of MUSICAL MINIMALISM, an artistic revolution which critic Kyle Gann has described as “the most important musico-historical event of my lifetime.”
OCTOBER 1 show: Multi-arts Contemporary Music Theatre: Hong Kong Explodes- A City In Conversation with Bach. Composed by Hong Kong composer, Samson Young, the recipient of Bloomberg\’s emerging artist award and current PhD candidate at Princeton University, in collaboration with Dither Electric Guitar Quartet
OCTOBER 15 show: A Night of Jazz, Hip-Hop and Poetry
MILK & JADE by Dana Leong has an incredible musical chemistry that combines live grooves, electronically charged tracks, rhyme and reason. Bandleader Leong uses a laptop both onstage and in the studio to create soundscapes of electronic beats and to manipulate the sound of instruments through real time processing. The result is a unique fusion of computerized instrumental hip-hop funk rhythms and rock propulsions. The band was recently selected for The Rhythm Road: American Music Abroad Program. This program, produced in conjunction with Jazz at Lincoln Center and the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, is designed to foster cultural exchange in areas with limited access to American music and culture.
Also a Jazz at Lincoln Center Rhythm Road alumni, UNIVERSES is a National/International ensemble Company of multi-disciplined writers and performers who fuse Poetry, Theater, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Politics, Down Home Blues and Spanish Boleros to create moving, challenging and entertaining theatrical works. The group breaks the bounds of traditional theater to create their own brand, inviting old and new generations of theater crafters as well as the theater goers and new comers to reshape the face of American Theater.

Likeness to Lily, also on January 28, Protected content
A rare breed of style and soul, Likeness to Lily is a new species of modern music. This Brooklyn-based quartet's compact arrangements and lyrical savoir-faire evoke timeless tales of romance and reality, expressed by the classical melody of Susan Oetgen's voice, and the jazz-influenced harmonies and rhythms of pianist Tony Melone, drummer Evan Pazner and bassist Ian M. Riggs.
Program: Bazm-O-Razm:
A meditation on the timeless and troubled marriage of romance and war, Bazm-O-Razm is Likeness to Lily's multi-media song-cycle for soprano, flute, violin, cello, bass, piano and drums, featuring original drawings by artist Justin Waldstein, Iraq War photos by Pultizer Prize-nominee Alan Chin, and choreography by Sahar Javedani. Bazm-O-Razm was commissioned by the Brooklyn Philharmonic and was premiered on BP's Music Off the Walls series at the Brooklyn Museum in March Protected content .

Grenzenlos is an organization for innovative music, consisting of a fixed ensemble, international roster of artists and composers, recording label and artistic management company. It has branches in Zürich, New York City, Berlin, Melbourne, and, from Protected content , in Hong Kong.
Formed in Protected content , Grenzenlos means Borderless or Limitless in German. Its members are some of the world's leading soloists in the field of innovative music. Grenzenlos' mission is to use new music to facilitate intercultural dialogue, through innovative programming, multimedia and interdisciplinary collaborations, and long-term projects that foster greater inter-cultural understanding.
Boston-based, The Moet Trio on February 18th
Regarded as "technically and interpretatively outstanding" (Strad), the Moët Trio shares its jubilant music-making with audiences across the United States and abroad.
The Moët Trio continues to make appearances at many of the major venues across the United States. Highlights of the Protected content include debut performances at the Kennedy Center (DC), Jordan Hall (Boston), and Virginia Arts Festival. The trio made its debut radio broadcast with live performances and interviews with Cathy Fuller on WGBH 89.7 Boston. The three are also firm advocates of outreach programs to introduce classical music to new audiences. Through the Astral Foundation, this season featured several visits to Philadelphia public elementary schools where the trio performed and interacted with enthusiastic children to share the joys of music.
